NextBolt VPN — Chrome Extension

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

NextBolt VPN ("we", "our", "the Extension") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Chrome extension collects, how it is used, and the permissions it requires.

1. Information We Collect

Server Selection Data — When you choose a VPN server, the Extension requests a list of available servers (name, country, connection address) from our server (nextboltvpn.com) so it can route your traffic through an HTTP proxy.

Connection State — The Extension stores your connection status (connected/disconnected) and the currently selected server locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. This data stays on your device and is not sent anywhere else.

IP/Location Display (Optional) — The popup may show your current public IP and approximate location (via a third-party IP lookup service) purely for display purposes. This is not linked to any account or stored by us.

Diagnostic Data — We may collect limited, non-identifying error information (e.g. failed connections) to improve reliability.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not log, monitor, or store the websites you visit, search queries, or browsing activity while connected. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Permissions We Request and Why

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates with our own server infrastructure (nextboltvpn.com) to retrieve the list of available VPN proxy servers, and with a third-party IP lookup API solely to display your current IP/location in the popup UI.

5. Data Retention

Since we do not log your browsing activity, there is nothing to retain in that regard. Locally stored connection state is removed if you remove the Extension.

6. Children's Privacy

NextBolt VPN is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

You may stop using the Extension and remove it at any time, which deletes all locally stored configuration. To request information about any data we may hold, contact us below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
